Northeastern Center Crisis Services: Where there is always someone to call, someone to respond, and a safe place to go.
Located at 1752 Wesley Road in Auburn, Northeastern Center's Community Health and Outreach Center houses our 24/7 crisis services, including Emergency Solutions, our Mobile Crisis Team and NEC Cares. These three programs ensure that anyone in crisis always has someone to call, someone to respond, and a safe place to go.
Emergency Solutions: Someone to call
The Northeastern Center Emergency Solutions team serves as the first line of defense for people experiencing a mental health crisis. They are available 24/7, 365 days a year through our crisis response hotline: 1-800-790-0118. When you call, local mental health professionals can talk to you and evaluate your situation, dispatch the crisis response team if needed, and provide referrals to other programs and resources. When you're not sure who to call, call our Emergency Solutions team at 1-800-790-0118.
Mobile Crisis Team: Someone to respond
Our Mobile Crisis Team is dispatched to de-escalate mental health or substance use crises onsite. Two mental health professionals respond to every call, helping to stabilize the individual in the short-term so they can receive the long-term care that is best for them. Often, the teams helps people avoid unnecessary trips to a hospital or jail. The Mobile Crisis Team can be dispatched by Emergency Solutions or via Indiana 988 (available by call or text).
NEC Cares: A safe place to go
NEC Cares is a safe place to go for anyone experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Open 24/7, it provides short-term (up to 23 hours) crisis stabilization services in a non-clinical, homelike setting. This fills a gap for those who don't need inpatient care but also can't wait for an appointment. It also helps to avoid unnecessary emergency room visits, hospitalizations, or jail time. NEC Cares is located in our Community Health and Outreach Center building at 1752 Wesley Road in Auburn, Indiana. Walk-ins are always welcome!
Help is always available
If you find yourself in a mental health crisis, remember that Northeastern Center always has someone to call, someone to respond, and a safe place to go. Whether you call Emergency Solutions at 1-800-790-0118, receive help at your door from our Mobile Crisis Team, or walk into our NEC Cares unit, we'll be ready to support you.
