University Recognition, Awards and Scholarships
Through endowed gifts and annual donations, the School of Architecture provides ~$260,000 each year to enrich and support undergraduates and graduate students, professionals, and faculty.
Illinois Medal in Architecture
The Illinois Medal recognizes lifetime achievement in architecture by alumni of the School.

A3 Awards Application will be live from November 1st, 2025, until February 2nd, 2026!
School of Architecture Awards
Undergraduate scholarships and prizes support students both in the states and abroad and for day-to-day study as well as special studios and projects. And, in addition to graduate scholarships and fellowships, Illinois provides many graduate students financial support in the form of tuition and monthly stipends through graduate teaching and research assistantships.
All of this valuable support makes a difference in the quality and depth of student learning and research and continues to define the Illinois School of Architecture as one of the best in the world.
Annual Architecture Awards (A3)
In 1937, the first banquet was held to celebrate these students’ achievements. The Annual Architecture Awards, or “A3.” continues today.
