Material Performing – Bath Spa University Material : Performing The Material : Performing research group considers the core value of art and art education an ‘event’, triggering new systems of thought and value. Formed in 2019, the group brings together artists, researchers, and creative writers working internationally across diverse disciplines and methods. Members practise, research and teach art within and beyond higher education, and the group forges external links with art professionals and institutions. The group investigates the role of the viewer as well as the importance of experimental processes. Members work on individual and collaborative research projects across diverse topics and media including performance, material/immaterial enquiry, site-specificity, virtual space, internet/social media, text and time-based work. They welcome new forms of enquiry into art and unsettled questions ready to take form.
