This is so because Urdaibai stands between two large geographical barriers: the Bay of Biscay and the Pyrenees. For this reason, Urdaibai is a very important resting and feeding ground for migratory birds, particularly when they are suffering harsh weather conditions. Considering that the Bird Center is located on one of the major Migratory Routes between Europe and Africa, it is very important to develop its research and spreading projects in coordination with other centers along that Route. One of Urdaibai Bird Center’s main goals is to create or participate in collaboration networks such as the following: The International Network of Bird Centers The Atlantic Flyway Network © copyright Urdaibai Bird Center .
