IACBE Candidate for Accreditation
The Rydell School of Business at Augustana University has been awarded the status of Candidate for Accreditation by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) located at 11960 Quivira Road in Overland Park, Kansas, USA. In granting candidacy status, the IACBE has determined that the institution may seek IACBE specialized accreditation of its eligible business programs. The IACBE grants accreditation for business and accounting programs only. Locations and delivery modes for program offerings are at the sole discretion of the Member.
A Candidate for Accreditation of business-related programs has met the IACBE’s requirements to be a Candidate for Accreditation and maintains good standing at the institutional level in its current accreditation/recognition from a recognized accrediting agency or recognition agency appropriate to its geographic region. A Candidate for Accreditation has (i) successfully completed the IACBE’s candidacy requirements relating to its business-related programs, resources, and operational processes, (ii) affirmed its commitment to excellence in business education, and (iii) been deemed eligible by the IACBE Board of Commissioners to undergo a review of its business programs for specialized accreditation. Candidates for accreditation have not yet undergone a review for accreditation and do not have business programs that are accredited by the IACBE.

Augustana's Rydell School of Business was granted membership into the Eta Kappa chapter of Sigma Iota Epsilon (SIE) in 2024. As an honorary and professional fraternity, SIE's mission is to stimulate interest and achievement in the field of management by encouraging and recognizing scholastic excellence and promoting cooperation between the academic and practical aspects of management. SIE seeks to acknowledge individuals and organizations which impact the field of management while highlighting the value of scholastic achievement in the field.

Meet the Dean
Dr. Roxanne Stevens is the dean of the Rydell School of Business. Stevens, originally from Maryland, has served as an undergraduate and graduate faculty member, program chair and, most recently, interim dean at Azusa Pacific University in California. She earned an undergraduate degree from Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California, as well as a B.S. in business administration and B.A. in business management from the University of Phoenix in Arizona. Stevens also holds an MBA from Azusa Pacific University and DBA from Alliant International University in California.

Augustana University Accounting Graduates Ranked No. 1 in South Dakota, Top 10 in the Nation for CPA Exam Pass Rates
Augustana University accounting graduates who took the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination for the first time in 2024 had the highest pass rate in South Dakota and the sixth-highest in the nation. This is according to the latest data released by the
National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).
Augustana Master of Sports Administration & Leadership Program to Host Second Annual Make-A-Wish 5K
Augustana University Master of Sports Administration & Leadership (MSAL) Program students will host its second annual Vikings Make-A-Wish 5K on Saturday, April 25, at 9 a.m., as part of their capstone project. The event will take place on Augustana’s campus and is open to the community.

A newly published report by Augustana University shows that 98% of 2025 graduates — who completed degrees in August, December and May of Academic Year 2024-25 — achieved a positive career outcome. Many of these graduates chose to continue their education, with 22% enrolled in graduate school or professional programs.
