INTRODUCTION
The Skill Development Centre (SDC) at Bhattadev University is proposed as a dedicated
platform to provide prac-
tical, employment-oriented and entrepreneurship-driven training to students and local
youth. The Centre will
introduce structured, short-duration programmes that supplement academic learning with
hands-on experience,
project-based activities, guided practice, and skill demonstrations.
The launch phase of the SDC will offer four skill-based courses that reflect both
regional development priorities and
broader contemporary skill needs.
WHY THIS CENTRE & RATIONALE
Bridging Learning and
Employability: The proposed courses aim to reduce the gap between
classroom learning
and real-world work expectations through skill application, guided practice, and
mentoring.
Regional Relevance: The selected
programmes address local opportunities such as dairy
entrepreneurship,
public communication, and digital service delivery, ensuring that training translates
into livelihood options.
Institutional Readiness: The
University already has essential infrastructure including
classrooms, computer
laboratory, library/IT facilities, and experienced faculty, enabling an immediate and
efficient rollout.
Scalable Future Pathway: The
Centre is planned as a growth model, beginning with four
impactful courses and
gradually expanding to additional domains such as Floriculture, Electronic Appliance
Servicing, Bioinformatics, and
others.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROPOSED COURSES
Provide job-relevant training
that builds practical capability and increases
employment readiness.
Develop entrepreneurial
capability through exposure to planning, costing, branding,
basic financial literacy, and market strategies.
Establish linkages with
government departments, local industries, training agencies,
and community organisations for experiential learning, internships, and outreach.
Integrate course participation
and learning outcomes into the University’s
credit-linked academic structure, ensuring long-term institutional sustainability of the
SDC.
