Our Services
A Strong Start.
All new freshmen are placed in Freshman Learning Communities, monitored by academic advisor/mentors. The Learning Community provides a structured approach that builds confidence and helps students achieve academic success during the all-important first year of the college experience.
Academic Support.
The Success Center is home to the Academic Support Centers, which offer one-on-one assistance, group workshops, and Supplemental Instruction to support every program and course of study at Livingstone College. Our full-time, professional staff and certified student tutors are on duty year-round to support traditional students, Continuing Education classes, summer students, and the Summer Bridge Experience.
Student Support Services.
The Student Support Services (TRiO) program offers federally-funded programs for first-generation college students, low-income students, and students with disabilities.
A Bridge to College.
The Bridge & Beyond summer program gives deserving students who do not meet college admissions standards a chance to prove themselves through an intensive, 6-week residential program.
Mentoring.
Livingstone’s Blue Bear Buddies are trained peer mentors who work directly with new Livingstonians. This program helps new college students make a successful transition to campus life.
Looking Out for Students.
The Central Access Base & Retention helps identify students who are having problems with coursework, missing classes, or experiencing other challenges which may block their retention and persistence to graduation. Working with faculty and staff, the CAB facilitates solutions and services to help meet these students’ needs.
