GAC Community Celebrates Coach Thom Jacquet with Lasting Tribute and Memorable Night

GAC experienced a memorable and meaningful evening last Thursday as the Spartan community gathered to celebrate the legacy of Head Soccer Coach Thom Jacquet.
Faculty, former players, alumni, family, and friends filled the Soccer Stadium to honor Jacquet’s 35 years of faithful leadership and ministry. The night reflected the deep relationships and lasting influence he has built across generations of GAC students and athletes.
On the field, both varsity programs delivered standout performances worthy of the occasion. The Varsity Girls dominated Mountain View with an 8-0 victory, while the boys team followed with a strong 6-3 win to complete the sweep.
Between games, the focus shifted to a special on-field recognition ceremony led by GAC President Dr. Scott Harsh and Athletic Director Tim Hardy. In a powerful moment of gratitude and celebration, they honored Coach Jacquet’s impact on the school and its athletic programs.
As part of the ceremony, it was announced that a multigenerational GAC soccer family has made a significant gift toward the new Fieldhouse, which will serve the soccer, baseball, and tennis programs. In recognition of Coach Jacquet’s legacy, the family will name the new coaches suite in his honor—ensuring his influence remains a permanent part of GAC athletics for years to come.
The evening served as both a celebration of an extraordinary career and a meaningful sendoff as Coach Jacquet prepares for his next chapter as Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Harding University. While his journey continues elsewhere, his legacy at GAC is firmly rooted in the lives he has impacted and the program he helped build.
For generations of Spartans, Coach Jacquet’s influence will endure—both on and off the field.
