Pay Your Bill
Students are required to pay all tuition and fees by the published payment deadline each semester. This page explains how to make a payment, when payments are due, and what to do if you have questions about your student account.
Payment Deadlines
Bethel has two payment deadlines each semester: one for students who registered during the priority/early registration period of the previous semester or during summer orientation for new students, and a later deadline for students who register during open registration at the beginning of the semester.
Students must pay their balance in full or have a payment plan in place by the deadline.
Failure to do so may result in the dropping of your class schedule and the inability to participate in extracurricular activities.

Plans are available each semester and require enrollment online through Nelnet Campus Commerce and in-person at Student Financial Services.

Third-Party Billing
Third party billing plans are available for students of employers approved for direct billing, active duty military personnel, civilian government contract employees, and students’ eligible benefits pursuant to the Veterans Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program. Students will be required to comply with the terms and conditions of the cash plan if employment ceases or the employer ceases to remit payments as agreed.
The following documentation is required to be filed by the due date for the third-party billing plan:
• Employer’s voucher approved by Bethel OR authorized military or government assistance vouchers
Employer Tuition Reimbursement
Tuition reimbursement from an employer is an acceptable financial option. However, it is subject to the following conditions:
• The student must make acceptable arrangements through one of the other financial options to pay all tuition and fees during the initial deferral period. Thereafter, tuition reimbursement proceeds will be applied to future enrollment periods.
• Complete documentation of terms and conditions of the employer’s reimbursement plan.
• A completed Tuition Reimbursement Certificate and Authorization Form which allows Bethel to automatically charge the student’s credit card in the event full reimbursement is not paid by the employer.
Students must be advised that terms and conditions are not contingent upon the completion of a course or the receipt of a grade and that the credit card will be charged for any amount necessary to repay Bethel 100% of the amount due. If a credit card is declined twice this will terminate this financial option and the student will be required to comply with the terms and conditions of the cash plan.
The following documentation is required to be filed for the Tuition Reimbursement Plan:
• Tuition Reimbursement Certificate and Authorization Form
• Credit Card Authorization to Charge Form
• Copy of Employer’s Tuition Reimbursement Plan
Education Using Veterans Service Benefits
Any covered individual will be able to attend or participate in the course of education during the period beginning on the date on which the individual provides to the educational institution a certificate of eligibility for entitlement to educational assistance under chapter 31 or 33 (a “certificate of eligibility” can also include a “Statement of Benefits” obtained from the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) website – eBenefits, or a VAF 28-1905 form for chapter 31 authorization purposes) and ending on the earlier of the following dates:
• The date on which payment from VA is made to the institution.
• 90 days after the date the institution certified tuition and fees following the receipt of the certificate of eligibility.
Bethel University will not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities, or the requirement that a covered individual borrow additional funds, on any covered individual because of the individual’s inability to meet his or her financial obligations to the institution due to the delayed disbursement funding from VA under chapter 31 or 33.
Financial Terms & Conditions
By registering for courses at Bethel University, you agree to the terms of the University Financial Agreement. This agreement outlines your responsibility to pay all tuition, fees, and other charges assessed to your student account by the published payment deadlines.

What Happens If I Don't Pay?
Students who do not pay their semester bill or set up a payment plan by their indicated payment deadline will have their class schedule dropped and will be unable to participate in extracurricular activities, including Athletics and Renaissance.
Within five (5) business days:
If a student pays their bill or establishes a payment plan within five (5) business days of the deadline, their class schedule will be reinstated and they will be able to resume participation in extracurricular activities.
After five (5) business days:
If payment is not made and no payment plan is established within five (5) business days, the student will be withdrawn from the University and will be required to move out of their residence hall.
Returned payments:
A returned check or ACH payment will incur a $25 fee.
Non-payment or non-attendance does not constitute an official withdrawal.
If you stop attending classes, you must formally withdraw through the Registrar's Office to avoid being charged for the full semester.
