The vision for the CSU Honors College is to be the premiere college for academic scholars whose graduates become outstanding servant-leaders in their communities and chosen careers.

Our mission is to attract, retain, and graduate (with honors designations and distinctions) a diverse community of academic scholars by providing an inclusive environment, highly effective support services, career preparation, leadership, and mentorship opportunities to further student success in graduate school and/or in their chosen careers.

Central State University's Honors College holds regular events for members. Read more about each in the following tabs.
Honors College New Student Orientation
New members of the Honors College will attend this event to review expectations, responsibilities, requirements, procedures, student organizations and groups, and resources. Students also participate in a group photo with other new members from their class.
One orientation is held per semester and all students are encouraged to attend.
Honors College Welcome Banquet
The Honors College Banquet allows members the opportunity to mix and mingle with other members. Students have the opportunity to learn more about engagement on campus and the Honors College curriculum.
All Honors College members are encouraged to attend.

Mark your calendar for the annual Academic Recognition Convocation (ARC)-
(formerly Honors College Convocation)
scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, 2026 in Paul Robeson Cultural and Performing Arts Center.
The ARC is a formal ceremony, held shortly before Commencement, to recognize the outstanding academic achievements of graduating Honors College members in good standing.
Graduating Honors College members may also receive Honors Designation Medallions (General Honors, Honor in the Major, University Honors, and International Honors) based on successfully completing specific Honors College criteria for each designation.
