Dinosaur Discovery | Sioux Falls Dinosaur Exhibit Skip to content The Dinosaur Discovery area invites children of all ages to step back into prehistoric times and encounter dinosaurs like the Dakotaraptors, Pterosaur, Triceratops and others that roamed South Dakota so many years ago. Stand face-to-face with a life-sized Tyrannosaurus Rex named Stan. Dig for dinosaur bones and learn about the tools used to unearth fossils. Kids love it! Take a ride in our Jurassic Jeep and meet a couple of “dino experts” who explain how scientists study fossils and what old bones teach us today. Color dinosaurs on interactive screens or watch educational dinosaur cartoons. Play a new interactive game called “Extinction Escape” to learn why we are left with only dinosaur bones. Over the past 12 years, the David B. Jones Foundation has provided more than $1 million in grant funding to the Washington Pavilion for various projects to encourage all future paleontologists to follow their dreams.
