Behavioral Health and Addiction Treatment Groups
Group therapy offers youth a safe, supportive space to connect, learn and grow alongside peers facing similar challenges. Led by experienced clinicians, our groups build skills, confidence and healthy coping strategies. Depending on the group, caregivers may participate to strengthen support at home. Some of our most popular groups include:
Growing Beyond
We offer multiple Growing Beyond groups for different age levels and at different locations. These groups focus on working together as a family to make changes, learning about mental health, exploring new ways to cope with emotions, building healthy habits, improving communication and problem-solving.
Emotion Regulation Therapy
This group is for clients who have overwhelming emotions, such as strong anger, sadness or anxiety. Participants learn simple, practical skills to calm themselves, express feelings in healthy ways and make better decisions.
New Hope Adolescent Program
The New Hope Adolescent program is a 28-week intensive substance use treatment program for adolescents with a moderate to severe substance use disorder. Participants learn about substance use, how it affects families and individuals and skills for recovery. New Hope is currently offered only on our Elkhart Campus.
Other Group Options (Varies by Location):
Recovery Connections – Youth with mild substance use and their caregivers learn skills, community resources and communication techniques to support recovery efforts and help families intervene in teenage substance use
Trauma Resourcing – Clients and caregivers learn trauma-focused skills like relaxation techniques, expression and regulation and cognitive coping
AFFIRM – Rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, this group aims to increase positive coping, stress management and reduce feelings of depression and anxiety
Moral Reconation Therapy – Supports youth involved in risky behaviors to enhance self-image, promote growth and encourage better decisions
Transition to Independence Process (TIP)
TIP prepares and supports the transition of youth (ages 14-26) experiencing emotional or behavioral health issues as they develop independence and enter adult roles. TIP focuses on a young person’s strengths and their goals for the future related to these five domains:
Employment and career
Educational opportunities
Living situation
Personal effectiveness and wellbeing
Community life
First Episode Psychosis / Insight
Early care makes a difference for those experiencing their first episode of psychosis. The Insight program is for people 14 and older who have experienced their first episode of psychosis in the past five years and focuses on recovery and living a fulfilling life. Using a team‐based approach, our psychiatric providers, therapists and case managers work with clients and families to set and reach their recovery goals. Support includes individual, group and family therapy; medication management; acute care during crises, and supported education.

Wraparound Services
Wraparound is a family-centered approach that brings together a team of supports to help youth and families reach their goals, especially when a youth is involved in more than one service system. A facilitator works with the family to connect informal supports (like relatives or community members) and formal services, creating support that is truly “wrapped around” the family.
Oaklawn partners with the state to provide Wraparound services. To get started,
make a referral through the Indiana Family & Social Services Administration

Camp Mariposa
Oaklawn, in partnership with Eluna, offers Camp Mariposa, a free camp for youth impacted by substance use in their families, with overnight options for ages 9–12 and 13–17.
