As winter weather moves through our area, BMCU is adjusting operations to help keep our campus community safe:
• Friday, January 23: Classes will move to an online-only format, and university offices will close at 2:00 p.m.
• Monday–Tuesday, January 26–27: All classes will remain online, with university offices operating remotely.
Residence halls will remain open, and residential students may continue to stay on campus.
The safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff are always our top priority. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility, patience, and care for one another during this time.

Maddie Sweatt’s story is a testimony of God’s redirection—shifting her calling from teaching to recruiting and now to nursing through BMCU’s Accelerated BSN program.
“For the past few years, I taught high school and worked as a recruiter for Blue Mountain Christian University. Those years were full of growth and memories, but God began tugging on my heart toward something new. He opened my eyes to a calling that combines my love for learning with my desire to care for others. That’s why I stepped into BMCU’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
I’ve always been amazed at how God’s hand is present in the smallest details of the human body. My prayer is to specialize in wound care and serve on medical mission trips—helping others heal physically and spiritually. This is where God is leading me, and I’m excited to follow.”

🎓 GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Jacob Eli Carter
📍 Amory, MS
Eli Carter is graduating this May with a degree in Business Administration. He’ll soon marry his fiancée, Skylar Lee, whom he met during his first semester at BMCU in 2021.
Eli has accepted a position as a financial representative with Modern Woodmen of America, where he will help Mississippians with savings, retirement, investments, and life insurance. His dream is to one day start a nonprofit for fatherless children through his work as a trusted advisor.
His favorite verse embodies how he wants his career to impact others:
Proverbs 3:27–28 – “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it. Do not say to your neighbor, ‘Go, and come back, and tomorrow I will give it,’ when you have it with you.”
Eli credits BMCU’s business professors for teaching him the importance of trust and integrity. Congratulations, Eli!

• Friday, January 23: Classes will move to an online-only format, and university offices will close at 2:00 p.m.
• Monday–Tuesday, January 26–27: All classes will remain online, with university offices operating remotely.
Residence halls will remain open, and residential students may continue to stay on campus.

Maddie Sweatt’s story is a testimony of God’s redirection—shifting her calling from teaching to recruiting and now to nursing through BMCU’s Accelerated BSN program.
“For the past few years, I taught high school and worked as a recruiter for Blue Mountain Christian University. Those years were full of growth and memories, but God began tugging on my heart toward something new. He opened my eyes to a calling that combines my love for learning with my desire to care for others. That’s why I stepped into BMCU’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
I’ve always been amazed at how God’s hand is present in the smallest details of the human body. My prayer is to specialize in wound care and serve on medical mission trips—helping others heal physically and spiritually. This is where God is leading me, and I’m excited to follow.”

Yesterday we gathered to officially welcome this year’s incoming students to the BMCU family.
Dr. McMillin shared a powerful message and gave each parent a small bottle of mustard seeds as a reminder of the incredible potential God has placed in their student.
She encouraged our students to:
1. Dream disproportionate dreams
2. Find a place where those dreams can grow
3. Be a light

🎓 GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: Jacob Eli Carter
📍 Amory, MS
Eli Carter is graduating this May with a degree in Business Administration. He’ll soon marry his fiancée, Skylar Lee, whom he met during his first semester at BMCU in 2021.
Eli has accepted a position as a financial representative with Modern Woodmen of America, where he will help Mississippians with savings, retirement, investments, and life insurance. His dream is to one day start a nonprofit for fatherless children through his work as a trusted advisor.
His favorite verse embodies how he wants his career to impact others:
Proverbs 3:27–28 – “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it. Do not say to your neighbor, ‘Go, and come back, and tomorrow I will give it,’ when you have it with you.”
Eli credits BMCU’s business professors for teaching him the importance of trust and integrity. Congratulations, Eli!

Savannah graduates TODAY with a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Pre-Physical Therapy.
