Kenya 2025
Forty students in year 9 and 10 have been given the opportunity to take part in a residential trip to Kenya in June 2025.
The aim of the trip is to provide pupils with an opportunity to experience life in a different country and well as supporting the local community by taking part in building and renovation work at a school in Nakuru.
The trip is organised by African Adventures, and their itinerary includes a safari, a Swahili language lesson, a Kenyan cookery lesson and a visit to a shield volcano with one of the biggest calderas in the world, located in the Great Rift Valley.
We recognise that this excursion is expensive and many of our students are actively fundraising to support the cost of the trip, developing their enterprise skills as well as inspiring other students to see that opportunities are possible if you work hard.

Other fundraising initiatives include:
George and Oliver climbed the 3 peaks and raised £1100 through sponsorship
Sophie carried 4 litres for 4 miles daily over the summer holidays and raised £1080
Sam has been car detailing in his local village which enabled him to pay the first deposit for the trip
Josh has an honesty cart selling eggs, fruit, vegetables and flowers to date he has raised £200
Katie is walking 4000 feet in elevation to gain sponsorship
Amy and Alice hosted a village cricket match with over 100 people taking part they raised £630. They are now on with organising a pony day experience at their local stables
Leo has been busy making occasional cakes and raised £200 so far
Lillie biked 25 miles from Northallerton to Middlesbrough securing £800 towards her trip, she is now busy making and selling dog treats locally
George has designed his own hoodie and is selling this through his own website

Isabella completed a sponsored walk completing a 16 mile trek from Reeth to Catterick on the coast to coast raising £300 for her African adventure
