How AI Is Used for Learning
AI at Anderson University enhances learning without replacing it. Faculty are equipped to design meaningful assignments, guide responsible and transparent use of AI, and adapt courses for a rapidly changing world. Students remain accountable for their work while learning how to use AI with integrity and purpose. Introduced in AU 101 and reinforced across general education and upper-level courses, AI becomes a consistent part of the student experience—offering opportunity, flexibility, and choice throughout all four years.
Current Examples of Academic Integration
AI-supported instruction in First-Year Writing courses (ENG 101 & 102)
AI integration in Biology Research Methods courses (BIO 240)
AI-powered active learning experiences in Business courses, including immersive escape room–style challenges
A dissertation-writing tutor bot supporting advanced research and scholarly writing
An adaptive AI study tutor that quizzes students, increases difficulty, and adjusts tone to enhance engagement
AI-enhanced workflows for Digital Storytelling, including video creation and production editing
AI-supported, game-based courses in Christian Studies, featuring role-playing narratives and interactive challenges within Canvas
AI personas in Psychology courses that allow students to role-play as therapists and practice diagnosing underlying issues
