Unisa made history in Frankfurt, Germany, at the Techtextil, one of the world’s premier international trade fairs for clothing, textiles, leather and footwear (CTLF), curated by Messe Frankfurt.
NRF awards two new research chairs to Unisa
The university will be home to the DST/NRF SARChI Chairs in Water and the Environment, and Welfare and Social Development in Informal Settlements, as announced by Prof Blade Nzimande, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation. The incumbents are, respectively, Prof Ilunga Kamika of the College of Science, Engineering and Technology, and Prof Solomon Kgatle of the College of Human Sciences.
Unisa hosts City of Tshwane's 2026 SoCA
Reaffirming its role as a key civic and strategic partner in South Africa's capital city, the university hosted the City of Tshwane's 2026 State of the Capital Address on 16 April 2026.
Collective responsibility required to tackle South Africa's water challenges
Coinciding with the National Water Month, Unisa hosted a Water Imbizo comprising various stakeholders to deliberate on prevalent water crises and develop legitimate solutions for a water-secure South Africa.
Unisa hosts high-level dialogue focusing on geopolitical tensions
Unisa, in partnership with the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, hosted a high-level roundtable focusing on geopolitical tensions and the significance of international law, diplomacy and multilateralism.
