Get out of the classroom and into the community! Immerse yourself in Parisian culture, make connections, and gain invaluable hands-on experience.
Academic Internships
Students in the NYU Paris Academic Internship Program learn about French culture and professional life through internship placements in a wide range of industries. This for-credit program includes two components:
Guaranteed (minimum 16hr/week) internship placement
Participation in the Internship Seminar and Fieldwork course
In order to enroll in this program, students must participate in a competitive application process. Successful applicants are typically adaptable, flexible, goal-oriented, and open-minded.
Students are required to have French language proficiency of at least
Intermediate French II
in key competencies (listening, reading, writing and speaking). Without this minimum proficiency, students are not eligible to participate in the internship program.
While there is no cost to participate in the Academic Internship Program, students who participate are subject to a financial penalty should they withdraw from the program.

To apply to the NYU Paris Academic Internship Program, you must first submit a study application. Visit the
NYU Study Abroad "Apply"
page for more information. You will be prompted to upload a personal statement, resume, and other documents as part of your online internship application.
Internship Placements
NYU has partnered with EUSA, a non-profit organization, to identify custom placements for students in the academic internship program. Unlike a traditional internship search, where students as job seekers apply directly to organizations, EUSA conducts this process on participants' behalf. EUSA weighs opportunities based on students' academic and professional goals, resulting in one placement.
Internship opportunities vary semester by semester; therefore, no specific placement list is available. Placement opportunities reflect trends in the context of the French job market. Some sample placement industries include: Advertising, Arts, Business, Film, Hospitality, Journalism, Law, Marketing, Politics, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Psychology, Sociology, Public Relations, and Theater. Experiential Learning Seminar Course
Enrollment by permission only. Application required.
This 4 credit course includes a weekly seminar and two full days and one half day (Monday-Friday) for their internship. Internship placements are made by EUSA, an organization partnering with NYU.
The seminar portion of the course explores many different aspects of your internship site. The goal is to finish the semester with an in-depth understanding of the company or organization, including its approach, its policies, and the context in which it operates. We will also discuss more generally the state of the contemporary workplace and ourselves as workers. Finally, you will use the seminar to reflect critically and analytically on the internship experience and as a way to refine your own personal and professional goals.

Application Instructions
Students interested in participating in the NYU Paris Academic Internship Program for the FALL semester must submit an application by January 15 (11:59pm NY time).
Students interested in participating in the NYU Paris Academic Internship Program for the SPRING semester must submit an application by August 15 (11:59pm NY time).
Students will be notified of admission soon after. This program is competitive, and students are encouraged to take the application process seriously.

page for instructions on submitting an NYU Study Away Application. Following submission of your study away application, you will be prompted to complete an Internship application. The internship application requires you to answer a series of questions designed to help you think systematically about what you would like to learn and accomplish from an internship experience in Paris, and to indicate what type of internship placements you would be most interested in. You will also be required to upload a personal statement and a resume in .pdf or .doc format.
Students must dedicate two full and one half day during the week (Monday to Friday) to intern. If you plan to participate in the internship program, please keep this in mind as you begin scheduling your courses.

Non-Credit Internships
Internships in Paris require contracts called
conventions de stage
. Due to changes in French employment law in 2014, non-credit internships (paid or unpaid) are no longer allowed in France; therefore, NYU cannot sign
conventions de stage
for non-credit internships. All internships must be credit-bearing, including summer opportunities. NYU will only facilitate the signing of a

for students enrolled in the Internship Seminar and Fieldwork course at NYU Paris, which is offered during the Fall and Spring semesters. See the above section for more information on this program. Please direct all questions to
