On April 16, 2011, LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes opened its doors with a bold vision: to center the history of Mexican and Mexican Americans in Los Angeles and to collect, preserve, and share the stories, accomplishments, and experiences of Latinx people and Latino culture.

LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes offers a beautiful campus suitable for both indoor and outdoor events of all types. Guests are given the unique opportunity to explore and contribute to the ever-evolving story of Mexican and Mexican American culture in Los Angeles just steps from where it all began.

Our Mission
LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes centers the history of Mexican and Mexican Americans in Los Angeles, and collects, preserves, and shares the stories, accomplishments, and experiences of Latinx people and Latino culture.
Located near the site where Los Angeles was founded in 1781, LA Plaza's 2.2-acre campus includes two historic and newly renovated buildings (the Vickrey-Brunswig Building and Plaza House) surrounded by 30,000 square feet of public garden and LA Cocina de Gloria Molina, a teaching kitchen and event space, located in LA Plaza Village.
LA Plaza is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Federal Tax ID# 75-3059288
LA Plaza is an official project of Los Angeles County and a Smithsonian Affiliate.
