The Civil Defence Heritage Gallery and Emergency Preparedness Centre will reopen to the public from 21 Apr 2026. However, the weekly Saturday morning Fire Station Open House will remain closed due to operational considerations.

Do you like to help people? Are you interested in picking up civil defence and first aid skills? Do you want to practice these skills and put them to good use in times of crisis, to help save lives, alleviate suffering, mitigate loss and damage?
Civil Defence Auxiliary Unit (CDAU)
The Singapore Civil Defence Force established its volunteer force, the Civil Defence Auxiliary Unit (CDAU), in 2006 to engage the community in civil defence and provide an opportunity for volunteers to contribute to the nation’s civil defence efforts.
CDAU officers play complementary roles to their SCDF regular and NSF counterparts in vocations such as Fire-Fighting and Rescue, Emergency Medical Services, Public Education, Enforcement and Heritage Gallery Guide.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
Find out how you can help fellow Singaporeans as a member of the People's Association Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), pick up useful life-saving skills and be part of a dedicated team. Introduced in 2004, CERTs are formed at the community level
to enhance community emergency preparedness and response of the people. If you are an able-bodied Singapore citizen or permanent resident aged 14 or older, and you want to make a difference in your community, please contact People’s Association
