St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital has fully equipped, modern, purpose-built sessional suites available for Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs) accredited at the hospital.
Conveniently located in the medical clinic at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital, our sessional suites offer VMOs a low-risk, low-cost consulting option as an alternative to committing to a fixed term lease.
Location: Suite 206, Level 2, Medical Centre, Thirlmere Road, Mount Lawley
Time: Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm
Sessions: Two sessions per day: 8.00am to 12.00pm and 1.00pm to 5.00pm
Sessional suite inclusions
Large, comfortable reception area and modern waiting room for patients.
Bright, clean consult rooms with examination light and measurement devices.
Desk, chair, telephone and computer in all consult rooms.
Designated parking facilities for VMOs.
Option of complete secretarial service.
Rates
Rates are per session and are offered either with or without full secretarial services.
Module one – full secretarial support service
$330 + GST per session
This is inclusive of meeting and greeting patients, managing appointments and on the day payment, preparing rooms for sessions, administrative duties, Genie management, preparing theatre lists and patient quotes and maintenance of medical records on genie.
Module two – meet and greet
$290 + GST per session
This is inclusive of meeting and greeting patients and taking payment on the day.
Module three – session only
$255 + GST per session
This is an option for the VMO to provide their own secretarial service during the session, and only utilise the room.

Accreditation as a specialist practitioner (specialist accreditation) is available to a practitioner who is certified by:
a relevant clinical college
holds full WA Medical Board registration
is recognised as a specialist for the payment of medical benefits by the
Health Insurance Commission

The
St John of God Health Care By-laws
set out the terms and conditions which medical practitioners must comply with to seek accreditation to admit and care for patients at our hospital.
Theatre session management is governed by the Theatre Efficiency Committee (TEC). The effective management of resources is a very important element of St John of God Health Care’s Mission.
Theatre sessions run on a four-week rotation and can be found in the annual theatre calendar. Permanent theatre session allocation process is as follows:

Request is presented to Theatre Efficiency Committee and an outcome letter is sent to the specialist.
