Introduction
This guide is part of a range of products to support the implementation of the safeguarding aspects of the Care Act 2014. It aims to inform Safeguarding Adults Boards (SABs) of what is required of them under the Care Act and to help them improve their effectiveness. It describes:
what
boards should do – role and duties
who
should do what – membership and tasks
how
boards should operate – structure and substructures.
All the above must be underpinned by the principles of
‘Making Safeguarding Personal’
, which places people’s experience and desired outcomes at the centre of all adult safeguarding and therefore at the core of all SAB activity.
