The Center for Excellence in Design and Innovation at LJCDS aims to inspire greatness by challenging students to identify real-world problems and design creative solutions to effect positive change for a better world. Innovation is the thread that connects technology with humans. The curriculum from kindergarten to Grade 12 focuses on learning how to use cutting-edge tools and technologies while developing an understanding of the social impacts of technology, design and business.
Far exceeding the standard offerings of a “maker space” or “technology program,” LJCDS provides students with the advanced resources, guidance and space to become innovators by employing the design process. Our design and innovation educators possess industry experience and are committed to connecting students with real-world experts to establish relevance in the classroom.
Upon graduation, our students:
Turn ideas into actions
Foster partnerships with professionals
Identify and solve problems beyond the LJCDS campus
Own a portfolio of work showing applied skills
The Innovation Lab created an opportunity for me to achieve out-of-reach goals that built the foundation of my college applications and career... I learned more useful skills that set me apart in college in the Innovation Lab than in any AP class.”
