The
Workshop on the Role of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in Architecture
along with the
Inauguration of the Standards Club of BIS
was successfully held at SPA Vijayawada on
12th November 2025
at Krishnaveni Sabhagaar. The event aimed to enhance awareness on the importance of standardization, quality assurance, and BIS guidelines in architectural education and professional practice.
The workshop featured insightful presentations by experts from the Bureau of Indian Standards and distinguished academicians from leading engineering institutions, who highlighted the relevance of BIS codes in ensuring safe, sustainable, and standardized architectural development.
The event was graced by the presence of the
Chief Guest, Smt. Prem Sajani Patnala
, Scientist E & Director, BIS Vijayawada, and supported by the leadership of
Prof. Dr. Ramesh Srikonda
, Director SPA Vijayawada, who served as the Chief Patron. Faculty coordinators
Dr. Jagath Kumari D
and
Dr. P. Siva Prasad
efficiently organized the sessions, under the guidance of
Dr. Srinivas Daketi
, Patron of the event.
The inauguration of the
Standards Club of BIS
marked an important step toward fostering a culture of standardization among students, enabling them to engage with national standards and quality practices through technical sessions, activities, and collaborative learning initiatives.
The workshop received active participation from students and faculty, making it an enriching and impactful academic event at SPA Vijayawada.
