The Council for the Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL) is the state’s official Agency of Francophone Affairs. CODOFIL is part of the Office of Cultural Development within the Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism. Our staff works to advance the French language in the state through scholarships, French immersion, community projects, and economic development initiatives.
French Immersion
In Louisiana, there are 36 French immersion schools with over 5,500 students enrolled. This new generation comprises the future of French in the state.
Become a Teacher
Escadrille Louisiane provides financial and technical assistance to get a masters degree or a certification to teach French immersion in Louisiana.
