The Boys Brigade, 7th Singapore Company
The 7
th
Singapore Company was the last Company of The Boys’
Brigade in Singapore to be formed before the Second World War. It was started
in 1937 and had their first enrolment service on 19 January 1938. Based
at St Andrew’s School, the first Captain was Revd AC Parr. Revd Canon RK
Sorby Adams was the first Chaplain. Mr George Ee Cheng Hoe and Mr WA Ponnial
were the original Lieutenants. Mr George Ee would take over the Captaincy
in 1940.
The Company’s crest has the BB Anchor superimposed on the shield of St
Andrew. We therefore draw inspiration from the strength of both Anchor
and Shield: Sure and Stedfast in character building, while moving Up and
On for the honour of God.
