The Annual Fund supports the GAC operating budget and helps provide an education focused on academics and grounded in faith. GAC appreciates gifts to the Annual Fund at all levels: your participation and support matter most. Your participation not only directly affects the operating budget but also allows GAC to seek additional funding from Atlanta area foundations.
The Annual Fund account is essentially GAC’s checking account that allows us to accomplish our daily work throughout the year. Annual Fund donations help to fund salaries and benefits, but also curriculum, campus security, student wellness, technology, continuing education for our teachers, and necessities such as light bulbs.
As with most private schools, tuition covers only 85% of GAC’s annual operating budget. We need the help of the Annual Fund campaign and miscellaneous income to make up part of the 15% to help balance the budget. Successful Annual Fund campaigns allow GAC to have a margin of excellence to be able to continually improve the educational experience of your child. Without the Annual Fund, GAC would have to raise tuition significantly. And tuition is not tax-deductible, whereas Annual Fund donations are.
All members of the GAC community – Board of Trustees, current parents, alumni, faculty/ staff, grandparents, alumni parents and friends – are encouraged to participate. Every year, GAC typically has 100% from its Board and faculty and staff and 95% from parents.
High participation in our Annual Fund by the Board of Trustees, employees, and parents is a huge vote of confidence and an important sign that all are invested in student welfare and support the school’s mission. This percentage also has an impact on gifts from outside sources, like Atlanta area foundations.
As soon as possible. Gifts to the Annual Fund can be made through May 31 of each year.
You are only pledging for this year. Annual Funds are just as their title suggests, annually. It is important for the GAC community to participate every year. We use the funds within the same budget year.
Your pledge should be based on your ability to give, your understanding of the need, and your belief in the mission of GAC. We hope that while your children attend GAC, the school will be one of the top three charities you support.
A capital campaign is a concentrated gift fundraising effort to pay for permanent construction or land or to build an endowment. It may also encompass a new program initiative that is too expensive to fund through the Annual Fund. The campaign typically extends over multiple years.
Participation at any level is important. The percentage of parent participation is a factor considered by outside foundations, as well as an indication of parent support for the school.
Check, credit card and stock. Online credit card payments may be made on the Giving tab of the GAC website.
Each year, we strive for 100% participation in the $800,000 fundraising goal.
GAC strategically plans to keep student/teacher ratios low, maintain facilities and replace equipment as it depreciates so that your children receive the best Christian education possible.
