Mater Private Hospital Mackay is located on Yuwibara Country.
Mater Private Hospital Mackay has been providing excellence in clinical and pastoral care to the people of Mackay and surrounds for almost a century.
First opening on Sydney Street in 1927 before the Willetts Road campus opened in 2003 on the Northern bank of the Pioneer River, the hospital is a modern 105 bed facility.
Mater Private Hospital Mackay also features:
A highly-regarded palliative care unit
Six contemporary operating theatres
A five bed close care obervation unit
Three surgical assist robots
Two endoscopy suites
Three birth suites
Five oncology chairs.
Orthopaedic patients benefit from access to both the Stryker Mako and Zimmer Biomet ROSA orthopaedic robots, which have supported robotic assisted joint replacement procedures since 2022.
In 2023, Mater Private Hospital Mackay patients also gained access to the region's first da Vinci surgical system, allowing surgeons to perform a number of complex minimally invasive gynaecological, urological and general robotic-assist surgeries.
Our facility is committed to providing the best quality palliative care, with an experienced team caring for not only palliative patients, but their families and loved ones.
Our Emergency Care Centre welcomes more than 14,500 presentations per year, with access to more than 90 specialist doctors.
