Captain’s Welcome
Captain’s Welcome
I feel incredibly honoured to represent St Patrick’s College, a place where beyond the learning in each classroom, futures are shaped and every person matters.
As I reflect on my journey, which began with us walking through the school gates in Year 5 in a blue cap and long socks, a little nervous and full of anticipation, I am grateful for the incredible seven years spent at the College. From those early days, we were nurtured and encouraged to be the best version of ourselves.
Influenced by the Christian Brothers and Edmund Rice traditions, St Patrick’s fosters a community of faith, service and growth. All members of the College are motivated to be selfless, compassionate and to serve each other and the greater community.
As I approach the closing of this chapter, we stand side by side as young men in black ties and blazers having formed a bond like brothers, shared laughs, endured challenges and created lifelong memories. Though the path ahead leads us in different directions, it is part of our identity as students of SPC that anchors us to these unforgettable days and enables us to leave as well rounded, humble young men.
As we reflect on all we’ve achieved, we’re reminded that our journey at St Patrick’s has never been walked alone. It has been shaped by the staff who guided us, the friends who stood by us, and the values instilled in us from the very beginning in the Junior School. These experiences have prepared us for life beyond the gates and given us a responsibility to honour those who came before us and inspire those who join our community.
The College’s motto,
Luceat Lux Vestra
– Let your light shine, recognises individual success in all aspects of college life. Whether academic, sport or cultural co-curricular, or social justice, the College offers opportunities for all students to use their gifts and do what they do best. It also symbolises the importance of supporting and building each other up so collectively our lights shine brighter, leaving no boy behind.
As the 2026 College Captain, my talented team and I, alongside Vice Captains Marco Lo Russo and Ryan Scullion, stand united in our promise to lead from the heart and make 2026 more than just another school year, but a chapter in every student’s story that they will carry with them for the rest of their life.
We look forward to welcoming all members into the St Patrick’s College community and continuing to grow the spirit of blue, black and gold.
