Tuition Assistance Guidelines
Tuition Assistance is awarded based on demonstrated need, with priority given to returning students currently receiving support.
While any family may apply, please note that Berkeley Hall does not offer 100% tuition grants. Each family is expected to contribute toward their child’s education. Awards are made for one year at a time and must be renewed annually by completing the Tuition Assistance application process.
In cases of separation or divorce, both custodial and non-custodial parents must participate in the application process.
Tuition Assistance Grants for the 2026–27 school year will be released in late January, alongside re-enrollment contracts.
All families must meet application deadlines to be considered. Awards are based on a complete, on-time Clarity application.
What does a Berkeley Hall Tuition Assistance award cover?
If I receive Tuition Assistance, will I continue to get it every year?
What if one parent is not working?
Do I have to reapply for Tuition Assistance every year?
When are Tuition Assistance applications due?
Tuition assistance applies to tuition and all required school programs. Families who receive assistance and use the bus service may also receive a bus discount equal to the same percentage as their tuition award.
As long as your family continues to demonstrate financial need, Berkeley Hall will do its best to renew your award each year. A new Clarity application is required annually.
Our tuition assistance model assumes that both parents contribute financially to the household. In the case of a non-working parent, we typically assign a modest imputed income based on each family’s specific circumstances.
Yes. Families must submit a new Clarity application each year, but don’t worry—Clarity keeps your past information to make reapplying quick and easy.

Is Tuition Assistance available for Nursery and Early Kindergarten?
Are merit-based scholarships offered?
What if I can afford tuition this year but may need assistance in the future?
Is my information secure with Clarity?
Can I complete my Clarity application on my phone or tablet?
At this time, tuition assistance is not available for students enrolling in Nursery or Early Kindergarten.
Berkeley Hall offers need-based tuition assistance only. We do not offer merit-based scholarships.
We strongly encourage families to apply for tuition assistance prior to admission if they anticipate needing support in future years. Entering as a full-pay family with the hope of receiving assistance later is a risky approach.
While our Tuition Assistance Committee does its best to support families facing unforeseen financial hardships, we prioritize allocating funds to families whose financial needs are established during the admission process.
Berkeley Hall takes the privacy and security of your personal information very seriously. Clarity is certified for both GDPR and SOC2 and uses enterprise-level security standards including end-to-end encryption of all personally identifiable information. For more information, please refer to
