This division was formally known as Biochemistry and Applied Molecular Biology until 2011 when it was split into Biochemistry Division and Applied Bio-technology Division. This division is made up of the following sections: Nutrition, Clinical Biochemistry, Toxicology and Drug development. It is to conduct research into feed analysis, toxicological studies and quality control of potable water for the community.
