Co-Curricular The Arts
The Arts faculty at the College is immensely proud of the diverse range of co-curricular opportunities available to all students. Students can choose to be involved in activities ranging from Choirs to Bands, Dance Troupes, Youth Theatre, Musicals and Creative Crew. All of our programmes allow students an outlet for artistic expression, whilst fostering creativity, well-being and teamwork.
A myriad of studies from around the world have time and time again, highlighted the power of the Arts to transform the individual. It is through the joy of performing and the achievement of personal fulfilment, that Arts teachers at A.B. Paterson College strive to transform our students. Many events such as eisteddfods, Christmas concerts, community and aged-care concerts, ensemble evenings, assemblies, lunchtime concerts, ANZAC Day services, tutor evenings, open mic nights, dance evenings, musicals, band festivals, Speech Night, Grandparents’ concerts and the like, allow our students wonderful real-world performance opportunities, and most importantly, a chance to give back to our community through a shared love of the Arts.
Co-curricular opportunities available to our students include:
Choirs from Prep to Year 12
Including traditional choral, acappella and extension ensembles
Concert bands
Including Year 5, Year 6, Intermediate and Wind Symphony
Senior Strings
Junior, Intermediate and Senior String ensembles
Big Bands
Junior, Intermediate and Senior Big Bands focusing on contemporary and traditional Jazz
Rock Band
Junior, Intermediate and Senior Rock Band
Dance
Junior, Intermediate and Senior Dance Troupes for students in Years 4 - 12
Vocal Festivals
Vocal Festivals for students in Prep to Year 3 and Years 4 - 12
Annual College Musical
Be it a Junior school, Secondary school or whole school production, students are involved in all areas of production including costuming, orchestra, set design and production, bump-in and bump-out activities, singing, dancing, acting, choreography, stage management, audio visuals and lighting.

A.B. Paterson College runs a comprehensive sports program that is designed to cater to the needs of every student, regardless of age or ability. Sports and Physical Activity are integral to the development of all young people, as they assist with learning key traits such as leadership, resilience, self-confidence, and self-discipline.
The College's sport program has three aims:
1. Enhance the overall student experience
2. Promote lifelong engagement in sports and physical activity
3. Empower every student to reach their own personal excellence
