Student Employment Types
Option 1
On Campus Jobs
Students can find part-time-hourly employment working for campus departments. On campus jobs are paid in one of two ways:
Work-Study Jobs
Some departments require
student employees to have work-study funding as part of their financial aid offer.
Work-study funds
may be Federal, state or university funds (MAVworks).
Priority funding is awarded to returning work-study students.
To be considered for work-study funds, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (
FAFSA
). New students may apply for work-study funding thorough the MAVworks application.
Check job postings in Handshake to see if a job requires work-study funding or not.
Student Assist Jobs
Some departments have the ability to hire student employees directly through the department's budget.
It is not necessary for the student to complete the FAFSA or be awarded work-study/MAVworks for these jobs.
