Fully explore a wide range of techniques and materials, supported by an experienced team of technical staff and academics.
From traditional techniques such as throwing, mould-making and handbuilding to modern technologies, we encourage you to try working with different materials and experiment using a range of tools.
We’ve got everything a ceramicist could need for clay preparation, throwing, plaster mould-making and slip casting. You’ll then be able to fire your creations using our range of electric and gas-fired kilns.
In addition to the workshop space, you'll also have access to an excellent glaze laboratory. There are glazes ready for you to use, or if you're feeling experimental you can mix up your own.
You can also take advantage of our 3D digital processes workshop, including rapid prototyping and digital transfer printing.
Discover something new
Almost all of our workshops are open for all students to use, after appropriate tuition and health and safety introductions. It doesn't matter what course you're studying – we encourage you to break boundaries and explore new disciplines.
