Introduction:
The Directorate of Extension and Outreach Activities at Yenepoya (Deemed to be
University) serves as a bridge between academia and the community. The Primary mission
of this initiative is to leverage the university’s resources, knowledge, and expertise to
understand and address societal challenges besides supporting sustainable development.
Engaging in programs and initiatives, the University aim to empower communities, foster
partnerships with local administration and Non-Governmental Organization, to recognize
and conduct activities relevant to the societal needs while providing learning experiences
for the students and faculty. The focus of activities spans educational outreach, health and
wellness, environmental sustainability, social welfare, ensuring a holistic approach to
community engagement and social responsibility embodying the university’s commitment
to community service and innovation. Through these efforts, we strive to make a lasting
positive impact on society.
Objectives:
To understand and conduct activities relevant to the societal needs
To provide experiential learning opportunities for students and faculty through
active participation in community engagement and outreach activities.
To integrate community-based learning with specific study objectives in the
curriculum for enriched learning experience into the academic curriculum to
enrich students' educational journey and professional development.
To establish and strengthen collaborations with regional, national, and
international organizations to enhance the reach and impact of the initiatives.
To engage with governmental and non-governmental organizations, the private
sector, and other educational institutions to share resources and expertise.
To organize health camps, awareness campaigns, and preventive healthcare
initiatives to improve the overall health and well-being of the community.
Provide support and resources to marginalized and vulnerable populations to
promote inclusivity and social justice.
