Summa Health Urgent Care is a perfect alternative to an emergency room for medical problems that are not life-threatening but need immediate attention. Our Summa Health Urgent Cares are staffed by board-certified physicians and

and offer walk-in appointments and extended hours to treat acute, or short-term, illnesses and injuries.
Urgent care facilities typically have shorter wait times as well as lower costs than emergency departments, providing easier access for less money to patients who have medical problems that don’t require a trip to the emergency room but still need immediate attention.

Our urgent care team does not treat children under 6 months of age.

Do I need an appointment?
No, you do not need an appointment. We understand that, often times, you are unable to secure an appointment with your personal or family physician when an injury or illness suddenly strikes, and using a Summa Health Urgent Care center is a practical alternative in such situations.

What if I do not have healthcare coverage?
Under insured or self-pay patients will be provided our 15% discount on the their services. Payment is expected to be paid at time of service. Summa Health Urgent Care accepts VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash or personal check.
If payment in full is not able to be paid at the time of service, a minimum payment of $50.00 will be collected and the balance will be sent by statement to the patient. We also may provide our patients with a Financial Assistance application to be completed for consideration.
What if Summa Health Urgent Care does not participate with my health insurance provider?
Your health insurance provider likely offers out-of-network benefits, which may be comparable to your network benefits. If Summa Health Urgent Care does not participate with your health insurance provider, payment is required at time of service. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash or personal check. We will provide you with an itemized statement, upon request, that you may use to file a claim with your insurance provider. You will receive notification from your health insurance provider advising you of how they processed your claim.

You will not need a referral to see a Summa Health Urgent Care physician.

If I have a work-related injury, should I go to Urgent Care?
If you have a non-life-threatening work-related injury, we encourage you to visit one of our Summa Health Corporate Health locations for treatment. If the injury is life threatening, call 9.1.1. or go to an emergency room as soon as possible for care.

Please note
: Many, if not all, Summa Health System Hospitals (its affiliates and joint venture partners) accept the following plans. However, there may be certain products or service locations excluded and not specified on this list. Please contact your insurance provider by calling the number on the back of your insurance card for specific information. This list is for reference purposes only and does not guarantee payment for services.
Physician and Ancillary ONLY plans are not accepted at any Summa Health facility or provider office.
Effective September 1, 2025, it is Summa Health’s policy to no longer schedule appointments for people with out-of-network or non-contracted health plans. This policy includes walk-in services at Summa Health Urgent Care Centers and laboratory and radiology services.
Per EMTALA, this policy does not apply to emergency services or emergency labor and delivery treatment.

If Summa Urgent Care &
Corporate Health
participate with your personal health insurance provider, we will file a claim with your insurance provider. If there is an outstanding balance once the insurance company has satisfied its responsibility, the patient will be billed.
If Summa Urgent Care & Corporate Health do not participate with your health insurance provider, we will file the claim with your insurance; however, payment is required at time of service. If Summa Urgent Care & Corporate Health receive payment from your insurance, you will be issued a refund. You will receive notification from your insurance company as to how they processed your claim. Often times, out-of-network benefits can be as favorable as in-network benefits, so you will want to check with your insurance provider.
