The Complex Arrhythmia Care Unit (CACU) at Saint George Hospital University Medical Center (SGHUMC) specializes in the management of all cardiac rhythm abnormalities. Our team is composed of highly skilled physicians specialized in clinical cardiac electrophysiology, as well as dedicated nurses, laboratory technicians and engineers. We offer high-end comprehensive ablation therapy for all tachyarrhythmias, including complex rhythms such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. We routinely perform cutting-edge procedures such as ablation of arrhythmias in the setting of structural heart disease, including patients with mechanical prosthetic valves and congenital abnormalities. We specialize in percutaneous epicardial ablation of ventricular tachycardia.
Importantly, we are the only center in the Arab World, and among a select few world-wide who offer these procedures without exposing the patient to radiation or fluoroscopy. We also offer the entire spectrum of device therapy including pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac-resynchronization therapy. We are national leaders in lead extraction, and were the first center in Lebanon to perform left atrial appendage occlusion with the Watchman device.
