In 1954 Govt. of India had started a premier research center for Ayurveda named as "Central Institute for Research in Indigenous System of Medicine (CIRISM)" at Jamnagar in the great building named 'Dhanvantari Mandir', which was built for housing the Ayurvedic Institutions.

Any CCIM recognized graduate of Ayurveda from a recognized university can apply for the PG course. An admission notification will be announced usually during the months of April of every year.

The Self Financial Course (SFC) Cell runs this course for the B.Pharma (Ayurveda) scholars, which is of 2 years duration with subject specializations in Rasa Shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana, QC, Pharmacology, Dravyaguna and Pharmacognosy.
