Student Housing
Woodbury University provides student housing options that fit a variety of budgets and living preferences, including two on-campus residence halls – North Hall and South Hall.
North Hall
North Hall
North Hall is a three-story, air-conditioned student residence hall separated into 11 community sections. Each section houses up to 15 students, who share a community kitchen and bathroom. North Hall also has a common central lounge, drink and snack machines, and laundry facilities.

South Hall
South Hall
South Hall is a traditional single-story, coed student residence built around a courtyard in the center of the campus. Rooms are not air-conditioned but are equipped with ceiling fans. Separate community bathrooms are conveniently located in the male and female hallways. South Hall is equipped with laundry facilities, drink and snack machines, and a common kitchen. South Hall is also home to the Fitness Center.

Here’s what you need to know to apply for housing at Woodbury.
Housing Rates
Assignment to a preferred building or room is contingent upon availability and is NOT GUARANTEED. If desired space is not available, the student will be assigned any available space. Contracts are not terminated if desired space or style is unavailable. Requests for roommates should be submitted simultaneously by all parties and is not guaranteed.

Housing Criteria
Fall 2026 Housing Assignment Priority
Housing assignment will be made based on the following priority:
New Students
Out-of-state freshman
International freshman
In-state freshman students outside of a 20-mile radius
Transfer students outside of a 20-mile radius
All other new students, based on the date the application was received
Returning Students
International students
Out of state
In-state outside of a 20-mile radius
In-state within a 20-mile radius
Students not falling into any of the above categories
Spring 2027 Housing Assignment Priority
Assignments will be made based on the date the application was received. Due to limited room availability, room type preferences are NOT guaranteed.

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions about housing at Woodbury.
When will I know if I receive housing?
Upon submitting your housing application, please allow up to three business days for housing staff to process the application. Students will then receive an email from

regarding the status of their application.
Students who apply during the priority period will be informed of their housing status in early May.
How do I complete a housing application?

Fill out the application entirely and be sure to click “Submit” to complete the application.
Is there an application fee or deposit for housing?
New students will pay a $250 deposit upon assignment for the Academic Year. There is no application fee to apply for housing for the 2025-2026 Academic Year.

Please note that all furniture provided must remain in the room. Storage is not available for bed frames, mattresses, etc.
Items to leave at home (because they are prohibited in the residence halls)
Candles, incense, and oil burners
Electrical appliances with heating elements or high energy consumption, such as microwaves, air fryers, hot plates, electric coffee pots, immersion heaters, popcorn poppers, crock pots, electrical heaters, electric frying pans, electric woks, stoves, toaster ovens, air conditioners, torchiere style halogen lamps, ultra-violet sun lamps or any other appliance which uses over 800 watts of electricity (with the exception of hairdryers), and/or any appliance that does not meet current UL specifications.
Refrigerators over 3 cubic feet
Extension cords longer than 10 feet
Any type of upholstered furniture not provided by the University which do not meet Fire Code CAL 133 or CAL 117 are prohibited. Each piece must be suitably labeled and written notice of compliance is required.
Pets, other than fish, are prohibited. Fish must be kept in aquariums 20 gallons or smaller.

How do I cancel my on campus housing?
Residence Life allows individuals who wish to cancel their contract the ability to submit a petition for termination. The petition is reviewed on the 15th of each month and can take up to thirty days for a decision.

Moving in outside of the specified hours may result in a $50.00 fee
Additional move-in information will be sent out when a student has a confirmed bed assignment.

I’m a returning student. Why can’t I indicate my room preferences on the housing application?
Returning students with a confirmed bed space will be able to select their own specific rooms during the summer. Please continue to check your Woodbury email for updates and further instructions.
When are Spring 2027 housing applications available?
Spring 2027 applications will be made available in November 2026. Room type and availability may be limited. Room type preferences are NOT guaranteed.
