Advanced Certificates at CEU
Advanced certificates are exclusive student-only, non-degree certificate programs offering specialized training that complements your Master’s or Doctoral degree at Central European University.
Drawing on the interdisciplinary approach to teaching and research practiced at CEU, advanced certificates are interdepartmental programs that guide you through systematic exploration of various concepts relevant to your field of study. You may select a practice-oriented certificate in advanced data science or visual theory or delve into a specific area of research in the context of a broader discipline, such as international political economy or Romani studies.
How CEU Advanced Certificates Work
CEU offers 13 advanced certificates to students enrolled in CEU Master’s or Doctoral degree programs. Depending on your chosen program, you will be offered a selection of thematically related advanced certificates.
CEU Advanced Certificates Accreditation
Advanced Certificate programs at CEU are approved and registered by the New York State Education Department (NYSED). Students successfully completing the program will be awarded a formal NYSED certificate.
CEU Advanced Certificates Requirements
The requirements for enrolling in the Advanced Certificate programs offered at CEU depend on your degree program.
The minimum requirement is to be an enrolled
graduate
student at CEU.
Students are expected to earn a specific amount of credits from the list of mandatory and elective advanced certificate courses to complete their chosen certificate. In some cases, students must write their thesis on a topic related to the advanced certificate to be admitted to the non-degree program.
