Deaf President Now! Film Screening: An Evening with Director Davis Guggenheim

The evening is designed to deepen DA’s understanding of navigating the world with learning differences and features a live Q&A with Academy Award-winning director Davis Guggenheim. The event aims to:
Expand awareness of disability and advocacy.
Empower students with learning differences.
Reinforce DA’s mission of resilience, self-advocacy, and impact.
Show that limitations do not define leadership or potential.
This is a free event for the DA community, but tickets are required with the option to donate to
Deaf Reach
, which supports deaf students in Pakistan.

Deaf President Now!
follows the 1988 student protest at Gallaudet University, a school for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, when a hearing candidate was elected over other deaf candidates. The film recently had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January and was released last May by Apple Original Films.
The film is rated TV-MA, and Common Sense Media says 13+. This event is hosted by DA's Student Senate.
