Endowment
LFA’s endowment touches every aspect of school life: It supports financial aid for  students with need, professional development for faculty members, campus technology and facilities, and academic programming that keeps students current and competitive.
Endowment dollars are invested in perpetuity and have both immediate and long-term effect. Earnings from the endowment help subsidize the annual operating budget and mission-driven initiatives. This allows the principal to grow, providing the Academy with a stable funding source.
When a donor creates a named endowed fund, it is managed as a permanent financial asset to support their philanthropic objective. Establishing a fund provides donors with the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy by associating their name, or the name of someone they wish to honor, with a fund dedicated to a specific cause.
Examples of endowed funds are below. To discuss establishing a fund of your own, please contact a member of

Endowed Scholarships
Faculty Professional Development Endowment Funds
Endowed Chairs & Instructorships
Endowed scholarships ensure that Lake Forest Academy remains a richly diverse and culturally stimulating environment. These need-based scholarships enable academically qualified students, regardless of their family's financial circumstances, to live and learn together. These funds can be established with a pledge of $50,000 (or more) payable over a period of up to five years and may be supplemented by a bequest or other estate gift.
Recognizing the importance of faculty professional development, these endowment funds celebrate a faculty member's commitment to the pursuit of knowledge. A sustainable professional development budget enhances the school's ability to attract and retain exceptional faculty engaged in research, travel, and advanced studies. Named endowed professional development funds, established with a pledge of $50,000 or more payable over a period up to five years, can be supplemented by a bequest or estate gift.
Academic chairs and instructorships contribute to faculty compensation and professional development activities. Those holding these prestigious positions are acknowledged for their mastery of subject matter, dedication to students, and commitment to the teaching profession.
Benefactors may endow a position at the following gift levels, which can be paid over a period of up to five years:
Head of School chair ($5 million)
Master chair ($2.5 million)
Faculty chair ($1 million)
Instructorship ($500,000)
