Kamis, 25 Juli 2024 menjadi rangkaian ke-9 dari sepuluh penampilan teater dari
Batch 27
Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi yang berlangsung di The Amani Palladium Theatre LSPR Transpark Bekasi. Pertunjukan kesembilan ini dipersembahkan oleh kelas COMM27-10SP
dengan judul “
The Cursed Melody
” yang dibimbing oleh Ms. Patricia Vicky Sihombing, M.Si dan Ms. Nadya Christina selaku asisten dosen. Teater “
The Cursed Melody
” menceritakan sebuah lantunan musik yang mengabulkan permintaan apapun dan siapapun yang memintanya, namun sudah pasti ada sesuatu dibalik kotak musik tersebut.
“
The Cursed Melody
” terlihat seperti sebuah benda yang menjawab segalanya, “
to grant all wishes
”. Apapun yang kamu inginkan, katakan lantunan musik tersebut dan terwujudlah keinginanmu, terkesan sangat membantu bukan? Tentu, namun seperti yang kita semua tahu, manusia tidak pernah bisa puas dari keinginannya sendiri. “
The Cursed Melody
” mengajarkan kita bahwa semua hal yang baik pada akhirnya akan hancur akibat rasa serakah dan egois manusia terhadap keinginannya yang tidak pernah mencapai titik akhirnya. Dimulai dari sebuah permintaan tulus seorang ibu yang ingin memiliki anak dan berharap anaknya menjadi manusia yang hebat, namun naas keserakahan merusak itu semua dan menghancurkan segalanya.

“The Cursed Melody Theatre”

“The Cursed Melody Theatre” tells the story of a cursed song that grants people wishes. In a small village, there is a widow abandoned by her husband because she cannot have children.
She tried every possible way to have a child, even sacrificing something precious. And after she was willing to sacrifice it, she finally became pregnant, and gave birth to a baby girl. A young girl, whose mother taught the song, strives to fulfil her mother’s wishes for wealth.
She eventually marries a wealthy man, but as their children fight over their fortune, she realisesthat this isn’t the life she desires. She seeks to reclaim her past and devise a plan involving her trusted lawyer and her mother’s hidden secret.
As the story unfolds, dark family secrets and the trye power of the cursed melody are revealed.
