About the Department
Initially the department was functioning as an allied department. B.Sc. Mathematics was introduced in 1995, B.Sc Mathematics with Computer Applications in 2002 and M.Sc Mathematics in 2003 followed by a Research programme (M.Phil) in 2006.The department has Excellent academic record and number of students have obtained University Ranks. The faculty and students of Mathematics are continuously interested in conducting number of curricular, co-curricular and extra curricular activities for the development of students & teachers.

Creating a congenial environment to learn mathematical designs and to use mathematical knowledge for problem solving.
Mission
To motivate the students to upgrade their interests in contemporary mathematical techniques and to enable them to acquire the required knowledge to strengthen their analytical skills.

Our Department is conducting quantitative aptitude classes every year to improve the aptitude skill of the students.
The department of Mathematics organizes weekly departmental activities which take initiatives for overall development of students and give them a practical orientation to inculcate employability skills which will help them to face this competitive world.
Signed MOU with Sri Ramakrishna mission vidyalaya college of arts & science and Aakkam Industrial Training & Research Institute, Coimbatore.
K.Vijayalakshmi, Assistant professor in Mathematics published a book entitled “Vilai Poga Vairangal” on 10th August 2017 in Erode book exhibition.
Our Department Faculties attended PDP, FDP, Refresher Course and Orientation Programmes in National and International Levels.
Many of our Department Students Completed their PGDCA in Addition with their Post Graduate Degree.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES
The Programme outcomes of the graduates of the college would be the following:
Disciplinary knowledge
Demonstrate critical and systematic proficiency about the breadth and depth of the basic and emerging trends in the arts and science streams appropriate to the programme.
Communication skills
Communicate ideas clearly and effectively through verbal and non-verbal forms to specialist and non-specialist audiences with professionalism and multi-disciplinary approach.
Critical thinking, problem solving and analytical reasoning
Apply appropriate knowledge and skills to identify, formulate, critically analyse and substantially conclude with simple solutions to problems.
Research skills and reflective thinking
Explore real-time scenarios, analyse and interpret data and information, articulate and support findings with evidences incorporating economic and business practices to reach valid conclusion.
