Attendance
All parents want the best for their children and for them to get on well in life.
Having a good education is important to ensure that they have the best opportunities in adulthood. If children do not attend school regularly they may struggle to keep up with school work, find it difficult to catch up and miss out on the social side of school life.  All of these elements can impact a child's feeling of self-worth.
There are some circumstances where disruption to regular attendance is unavoidable. In these situations, effective communication with the school can help to minimise the impact of non-attendance and reduce anxiety.
The importance of good attendance
If attendance is below 95% then, on average progress is 0.389
If attendance is above 95% then, on average progress is + 1.274
A difference of 0.86, nearly one whole grade
