Postgraduate Doctoral Loan
Up to £18,950 in combined grant and loan support
The exact split between grant and loan is based on your household income
You can use the funds for tuition fees and/or living costs
Up to £28,395 for the full course (not per year)
Paid directly to you to use for tuition and living costs

Postgraduate Master’s Loan (2024–25)
Doctoral Loan
- Up to £12,471 for the entire course
- Paid directly to you in instalments
- Can be used for both tuition fees and living costs
- Up to £28,673 for the full course
- Paid in instalments over the duration of your studies
