The nature of UConn Health’s activities requires that official notification of emergency closing decisions be made and communicated ONLY by UConn Health.
UConn Health employees and students should contact UConn Health’s operational status hotline at
860-679-2001
. This 24-hour hotline and this webpage are the only reliable and official sources of communication regarding delayed openings, class cancellations, or closings of certain of UConn Health operational units or service units due to weather or other circumstances.
In the unlikely event that the service of UConn Health’s Operational Status Hotline is disrupted, the backup number is
860-486-9292
.
For Employees
This Closing and Cancellation page will advise employees of UConn Health’s operational status based on the service unit designation. Additionally, whenever possible, this information is also shared via UConnALERT, which defaults to sending a message to your work email, then also sends text notifications to those who’ve
opted in to receiving text alerts
. Registering your personal cell phone number greatly increases the likelihood you will see these (and any other) time-sensitive communications right away.
