Degree Requirements
Candidates for the Master of Arts in Sport Management degree must complete a minimum of 34 credit hours of coursework in accordance with the prescribed course of study and maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. The MASM Program is fully online and offers three specialization tracks,
Sport Marketing
,
Athletic Administration and Compliance
and
Sport Leadership and Coaching Education.
Admissions Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the MASM degree program, you must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and have a GPA of 2.9 or higher.

Provide the contact information for (3) professional recommendations (no reference check will be conducted unless deemed necessary by the admissions committee)
Arrange to have your official transcript(s) sent directly from all previously attended colleges and
universities (we will tell you more about how you can do this after you start your application)

*The MASM program is 100% online. F1 visa international students, per federal regulations, cannot be granted visas for online degrees and consequently will no longer be able to complete a course of study after an August 2018 start date. Therefore, enrollment will be permanently closed after fall 2018 to F1 visa student applicants for this degree. International students who are NOT seeking entry into the U.S. on an F1 student visa may apply to the MASM ONLINE program.

The MASM program does not currently offer financial aid or assistance, however, there may be opportunities for outside grants, scholarships or other financial aid options.  The Office of Financial Aid may be reached by email at

Graduate assistant positions are available on campus in various departments, while most are awarded through the various athletic teams. You will need to personally contact departments on campus to inquire about the availability of a GA position. However, no guarantee can be made for securing a graduate assistant position while completing the MASM program.  Please note:  international applicants requiring an F1 Visa are not eligible for GA positions or admission to the program.
No, the MASM program no longer requires applicants to take a graduate school admission test.
You should allow 3-4 weeks after you submit your online application and requests for recommendations and transcripts for processing all materials for your application.  You may contact

You will be notified of your admission decision via e-mail. You will receive an email of admission with additional details to follow. Admission decisions will be rendered two to three days after your application goes under review by the admissions committee.
There are three (3) tracks of study in the MASM program (
Sport Marketing,
Athletic Administration and Compliance
or
Sport Leadership & Coaching Education
).  Along with your acceptance letter, a link will be sent to you to make your track selection. Please be sure to complete your track selection right away. This form denotes your acceptance of our admission offer and secures your seat in the program.
This is dependent upon the course content and rigor. Transfer courses are reviewed on a case by case basis by the MASM Program Director.  Please note a maximum of six (6) credit hours with a grade of "B" or better may be transferred and applied toward degree completion/graduation pending approval by the MASM Program Director. Be sure to select that you are applying to the program as a 'transfer graduate student' when completing the online application for admission if you are considering the transfer of any coursework.
The MASM program does not require a deposit in order to be enrolled in classes. Instead, offers of admission are confirmed via the Track Selection Form upon admission to the program.
The MASM program operates on a rolling admissions basis.  This means you can apply at any time throughout the year.  However, please note the deadlines for admission consideration for each academic term each year:
Fall semester: Aug. 1
Spring semester: Jan. 2
Summer semester: May 16
Start your application by creating an account and logging in. Complete all required fields, update your personal statement of intent, and submit. Upon submission of the application for admission, you will be emailed a link to the recommendations portion of the admission process, wherein you will list the contact information of three recommenders. At this time, we only require the contact information of three recommenders. Arrange to send all official transcripts of any coursework attempted post-high school to the MASM program. Once all materials are received and your application package is complete, it will undergo review by the admissions committee. Admissions decisions are sent via e-mail within a few days of going into review.
Application packages are typically completed within a week, contingent upon the completion of recommendation contact information and the transmission of official transcripts. Admission decisions are typically rendered within three days of going into review.
At this time, there are three entry points for the MASM program: fall, spring, and summer. Students cannot be enrolled between sessions.
To be considered for admission, we require official transcripts of all post-secondary (post- high school) credit attempted, including any transfer credit or dual enrollment credit.

Students may utilize financial aid to assist with program tuition costs. The minimum enrollment status to be eligible for financial aid is five (5) credits per term. We consider non-degree seeking student applicants who may be interested in taking individual courses without pursuing the full degree. You can apply to the MASM program using the normal application for admission. Be sure to select that you are applying to the program as a 'non-degree seeking student' when completing the online application for admission.
