Invest in a Degree... Invest in Your Future.
Increase your earning potential with a bachelor’s degree. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), those with a bachelor's degree earn
66% more per week
than those with just a high school diploma.
While going back to school requires time and resources, research consistently shows that higher levels of education are linked to higher median earnings and lower unemployment. For many students, that combination makes a bachelor’s degree a strategic investment in long-term career growth and financial security.

Testimonials
The curriculum challenged me to think critically, communicate effectively, and approach problem-solving with empathy and awareness, qualities that have greatly enhanced how I show up in my work and within my team. This degree gave me more than just credentials; it gave me direction, purpose, and the confidence to pursue a future in mental health services where I can truly make a difference.
Briggette A.
BA in Psychology
The IT program provided me the flexibility to set my pace of learning according to my work and other life events. The competency-based education framework (MyPath) was great. I could fast forward through content I already knew, and focus on strengthening my knowledge on content I was weaker in.
Soham A.
Information Technology (MyPath), BS
When you take those things that you learn in school and apply it, it makes so much sense how you're able to lead; and then you become a better leader. Within two years after going back to school I was recognized and received a 2018 non-commission officer of the year award. And that was all, I feel, because of my education.
Jorge H.
Applied Studies, BA
I actually had a counselor that would call me, just to see how I was doing in school. Was there any additional assistance that I needed? To me that was showing me that they have value in what I'm doing.

Frequently Asked Questions
General
A bachelor’s degree is a type of undergraduate academic program that prepares students for a particular career or interest. Traditionally, it’s pursued immediately after high school, but not always. Some may choose to take a break for work or life, while others may begin with an associate degree before advancing.
A Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree is typically more flexible and interdisciplinary, encouraging a broad, well-rounded education with a focus on humanities, such as literature, languages, philosophy, and social sciences. Beyond the specific curriculum or major, however, simply attaining a bachelor’s degree of any type has been shown to result in higher lifetime earnings than having only a high school diploma.
Different countries have varying names for their equivalent education standards that translate to the U.S. bachelor’s degree, with most requiring about four years of study. Many professional fields expect candidates to have this foundational level completed, but employers may consider 4-8 years of work experience in a related field equivalent. This is far from guaranteed, however, as many jobs in today's working world simply require the applicant has at least a bachelor's degree to even apply.
Psychology
The UMass Global psychology undergraduate program offers a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. A BA in Psychology provides a broad-based education, offering a wider perspective on the field of psychology. At UMass Global, the electives available within the general psychology concentration reflect this versatility, covering diverse topics such as “Issues in Aging,” “Family Systems and Dynamics,” “Child Development,” and “Survey of Forensic Psychology.” This breadth of coursework allows students to explore multiple areas of psychology and apply their knowledge across various fields and careers.
Bachelor of science degrees in psychology typically are more research-oriented, with lab-based courses targeted toward graduate study in psychology.
Time
Most of our undergraduate degree programs are 120 units. Since UMass Global offers six accelerated eight-week sessions per year, you have plenty of opportunities to take classes that meet your needs.
Taking two courses per session would allow you to finish in three years, four months.
Taking one course per session would allow you to finish in just under seven years.
Students seeking to finish more quickly can do so with MyPath self-paced coursework.
Utilizing transfer credits, you can shorten your degree by 75%! With credits from your military training and education, work experience, prior college courses, and certifications, you can transfer in up to 90 credits.
