New Application
After passing your practical test, you must apply for your Qualified Driving Licence (QDL) online using your Singpass account. For Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, you need to take a digital photograph at the driving centre before making the application.
If you already have a valid Singapore driving licence and have passed another class of licence, you do not need to submit a new photograph. The driving tester will paste an endorsement sticker on your existing licence at no additional cost.
Foreigners holding valid work passes from MOM or Student/Long-Term Visit passes from ICA who passed their test at a Traffic Police Test Centre must also apply online using Singpass.
Please note that driving or riding without a valid licence is a serious offence punishable by law.
Replacement
If your Singapore driving licence is lost or defaced, you can apply for a replacement online using your Singpass account. This service is available to Citizens, Permanent Residents, and eligible foreigners. Your existing photograph in the system will be used for the new licence.
You must return your original licence (if found or defaced) to Traffic Police within 7 working days. You can either use the drop box at Traffic Police Headquarters or send it via registered mail to: Testing & Licensing Branch, Traffic Police Headquarters, 10 Ubi Ave 3, Singapore 408865.
Renewal
Foreigners with valid work passes from MOM or Student/Long-Term Visit passes from ICA
can renew their licence online via Singpass when it is expiring in 1 month or less
. Your existing photograph will be used for the renewed licence. This service is NOT for drivers aged 65 and above who require medical examination, to submit their report.
