Facilities & Technology
Marywood University's Nursing Program boasts state-of-the-art simulation labs that provide students with a realistic and immersive learning experience. The simulation labs are equipped with advanced mannequins that can mimic various medical conditions, allowing students to practice their skills in a safe and controlled environment. The Nursing School facilities are equipped with a wide range of medical equipment and supplies, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in performing various nursing procedures. Under the guidance of experienced faculty, students can practice tasks such as administering medications, taking vital signs, and performing wound care, ensuring they are well-prepared for their clinical rotations.
Clinical Simulation Lab
The use of SimMan and Vital Sim Models along with the newly purchased Nursing Anne and SimMom provides an opportunity to experience realistic clinical situations. The new skills lab is a state of the art facility that helps students establish fundamental critical thinking skills that can be applied in nursing practice.
Student Lounge
Within the sim lab, students have access to a student lounge where they can study and socialize and they have access to a microwave and refrigerator. Students can access the lab and the lounge with their Marywood ID card.
Computer Lab
Students have access to a computer lab with up-to-date resources for academic development located right inside the Center for Natural & Health Sciences. Other computer labs are available across campus.
Nursing Skills Lab
The Nursing Skills Lab in the Center for Natural and Health Sciences is equipped with patient simulators, Turning Point technology, and patient mannequins that afford students the opportunity to practice a range of nursing skills. This simulation lab offers students an environment to apply knowledge in a safe setting, fostering critical thinking. The simulators are programmed to respond physiologically to diseases, trauma, and interactions as human beings. Realistic patient scenarios can be simulated in a controlled environment in which students can practice the nursing process, critical thinking, and decision making.
The Nursing Department utilizes various healthcare facilities that include acute and critical care, pediatric, obstetrics, long term care, psychiatric and mental health, and community care settings. These facilities serve populations of culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds, offering the students exposure to a microcosm of the larger global community in which they will practice after graduation.
O'Neill Center for Healthy Families
The O'Neill Center for Healthy Families, located on University Avenue, provides classroom and research space, joining academic programs to innovative research. Students from the Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, Exercise Science, Respiratory Therapy, and Physician Assistant programs have classes in this building. It is also home to
The Human Performance Lab, a state-of-the-art facility designed to serve the needs of student, professional, amateur, and recreational athletes and the community.
The Keith J. O'Neill Center for Healthy Families, dedicated on October 18, 2002, was named in honor of its benefactor, esteemed alumnus and former trustee Keith J. O'Neill '76, the first male to graduate from Marywood's dietetics program and
an accomplished leader in the dietetics profession.
He credits Marywood for "(giving) me the skills and confidence to take on the challenges that come from running a large food service department and eventually from the challenges created by starting my own company."
In 2024, Marywood University further expanded its deep commitment to health sciences during the dedication of the Pascucci Family Health Sciences Pavilion, a transformative addition to the Keith J. O'Neill Center for Healthy Families and a cornerstone of the EMPOWER Campaign.

Simulation Rooms
There are 2 simulation rooms with state-of-the art critical care, birthing, neonatal and pediatric simulators. Each simulation room is equipped with a camera for recording of sessions and 2-way glass for observation.
Exam Rooms
There are 9 individual exam rooms utilized for practical education and testing of history and physical examination techniques. Each exam room is designed to mimic a provider office and is accessible to students to practice throughout their time here.
Private Study Rooms
There are 3 private study rooms which can be accessed 24/7 with key-card access. These spaces are ideal for group studying and collaboration.
Student Break Room
A student break room and kitchen provides space for students to store and prepare food, eat comfortably between classes and socialize with peers.
